As far as media devices go, you really can't beat a hacked XBOX.  The 
guys putting together the OS and apps have done an absolutely superb 
job.  I used the overflow mod, and have mine running avalaunch and Xbox 
Media Center.  It plays ANYTHING, and will stream it over a variety of 
shares.

I have tried many HTPCs, and set-top boxes.  But for $150 you absolutely 
cannot out do the modified XBOX, especially with the new sploits that 
don't even require you to open the box.
