Cyber Governance (aka more CNAS)

You cannot, on one hand, say you are for a secure Internet, and on the
other hand appoint RIAA lawyers to key positions to create intellectual
property policy
<http://www.boingboing.net/2011/06/08/copyright-extremist.html>. Until
you've brought your IP law into compliance with what the public expects
it to represent (aka, they do not consider passing around MP3's to be
illegal or immoral in any way), the public has a built-in strong
preference for an insecure, anonymous Internet. This may not even be a
conscious thing, but it's something that you have to consider if you
want to send emails on the Internet without having them posted to a leak
website. I don't see this topic mentioned anywhere in CNAS Cyber Volume
1 or 2.

But taking a look at Wikileaks, or Anonymous/LolzSec, or any of a number
of things that have happened this year - it's a pretty basic Andrew Exum
style lesson that until you've won the hearts and minds of your public,
you don't make headway in these kinds of wars.
