WHAS11) - Stolen court records are now apart of an ongoing police investigation.

On Wednesday, Louisville Metro Police made an arrest, and during that arrest they found 312 stolen court traffic files
in that person's possession.
The files are all from November 2003 and were being stored in the old jail building under 24-hour surveillance, but
somehow, someone managed to get them out.

All of the files contain personal information of people in Louisville such as, name, address, date of birth and in some
cases social security numbers and copies of drivers' licenses.

Authorities say the biggest concern is to help those whose records were stolen prevent identity theft.

The court is sending out letters to the 312 people affected. The letter includes information to help prevent identity
theft, identify it if it has happened, and it includes information on a helpline that has been set up to help those
affected by the stolen court records.
