We're pleased to announce that as of May 1, 2009, we are now hosting a new
mail list for the discussion of data loss incidents and related topics:

http://lists.osvdb.org/mailman/listinfo/dataloss-discuss

The current DataLoss (dataloss () datalossdb org) mail list will remain
intact, but will be more closely moderated to allow only for news about
data breaches involving personally identifiable information. All items
sent to the current list will be cross-posted to the discussion list,
which means:

1. Those who only want news items without discussion can stay subscribed
to the current mail list (this one), or,

2. Those who want news items and all related discussion can subscribe to
the DataLoss-Discuss mail list to receive both news and discussion items.

The DataLoss-Discuss list will also be moderated, but to a far lesser
degree than the current mail list; as long as posts are topical and do not
involve blatant promotion of commercial services or products, they will
generally be approved without hesitation.

If you have any questions, concerns, problems, or just want to email us to
say "it's about time, you crazy slackers!", please feel free to email us
at curators () datalossdb org

[.]

(please though, for the discussion list, remember to trim those nasty
excessive footers and quoted material wherever applicable!)
