Kevin,

I’ve used PowerGREP to great effect, searching for literal strings and using regular expressions to find particular
information on network shares within many document types, including MS Office file-types, PDFs, text files, within zip
files, etc . I am unsure of the ability to search through PSTs though.

PowerGREP’s website at http://www.powergrep.com/ <http://www.powergrep.com/> . You can evaluate it for 15 days free
of charge… Otherwise, it costs $159.

I found its results easier to go through than some other packages.

On a side note, I also used RegexBuddy (also made by the same people who make PowerGREP) to aid in creating complicated
and highly-customized regular expressions. This does cost extra ($39.95), but just to make you aware.

Take care,

Subject: [SECURITY] OT: E-discovery Windows Tools

We need a tool to search through Windows file shares and local Windows PC hard drives for E-Discovery. It needs to
search all the basic Office documents along with PDFs and PSTs. We are a SMB with no budget for this tool, so we need
something that is free or inexpensive. Something that works with Macintosh computers would be a plus.
