You can't go wrong as far as throughput performance for Checkpoint and PA. In my opinion PA is the better long term solution. I have had more than one occasion where I have found solutions to open trouble tickets before Checkpoint engineers, which irritated me to say the least. PA has more of a forward thinking strategy in terms of architecture and willingness to establish itself as the premier second generation firewall.
