In addition to allowing TCP/1723 to the server (this is the PPTP
control channel), you have to allow IP protocol 47, Generic 
Routing Encapsulation, bidirectionally through your router to
the PPTP server.

PPTP works with NAT so other than that you shouldn't have any problems.
