You may want to specify the MIME type as application/program or "application/executable". I believe that things like MS-Word attachments use "application/ms-word" and the such. -----Original Message----- From: Geoffrey Scrace [mailto:postmaster () ludwig ucl ac uk] Sent: Tuesday, May 16, 2000 11:32 AM To: firewall-wizards Subject: [fw-wiz] Stripping MIME attachments at FW-1 Has anybody successfully managed to implement stripping executable attachments from mail using a SMTP security server on FireWall-1 running under Solaris. I have tried and failed. Using a mime type of "application", the result is that incoming mail that has any kind of attachment is blocked until I disable the rule in the security policy. Any tips or pointers would be appreciated.
