So, given all that, why _don't_ we have a choice of firewalls that can do transparent user authentication for MS networks? Is it just that nobody has gotten around to hacking it all together?
It seems we don't have an infinite number of monkey's, unfortunately. Maybe when someone who wants it to happen makes it happen it will all work ? Or maybe nobody's willing to give away code that's a serious value-add ? I'm sure I'd welcome the addition to the ipfilter suite of tools if someone were to write it, but I've got more important, core, things to tend to than worry this.
