Newbie Questions

Hi all, sorry for these newbie questions, hope m not wasting much of
your time!!

Q1. I have SuSE Firewall (connected to Internet), it has a feature which
allows it to act as a "Forwarder only DNS" or to resolve internal DNS
queries itself, how safe is it to choose ANY of the option? Or is it
good to have a separate DNS server for internal use? 

Q2. How safe is to have HTTP proxy (squid) on the Firewall itself or
having a separate proxy server inside the network?

I think that in both cases having a separate server is good, but i want
to know more about it.
