There it is... That duality that permeates this space. As if we should be
thankful for hackers. I sometimes talk to vendors who think that way. I sure
hope I never talk to a security professional who does. Or a cop. Or a lawyer
(oops), I mean doctor ;-) It reminds me of a headline in USAToday that I saw
two years ago regarding DEFCON - "CyberSecurity Czar Encourages Hacking"...
(Of course, at that time, I believe the czar was Howard Schmidt ;-)
Definitions of hacking notwithstanding, I would be hard pressed to believe I
would ever see a headline that says "God Encourages Sin," "Surgeon General
Encourages Obesity," or "Police Chief Encourages Looting."
