Hi,

 Karalon, Canvas, Metasploit can be used to find out how effective is your box, to prevent vulnerabilities and Exploit. 
If you are interested in doing false positive testing, then for different set of protocols, different set up will be 
required. For examples, if you are interested in testing HTTP bases rules/ signatures for false positive, you can use 
some crawler download web pages, and design some sort of interface to feed these web pages to IDS/ IPS box.
