Bleh. I sent it to Justin instead of the list. Here was my reply. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Richard Spiers" <dksaarth () unix za net> To: "Justin Shin" <zorkshin () tampabay rr com> Sent: Thursday, July 31, 2003 10:40 PM Subject: Re: [Full-disclosure] rpc dcom -- net share
You running Windows Xp ? Windows Xp by default only allows the guest
account
to "login" network shares, no matter the privileges of the person creating the share. You can disable it, but maybe this is what is happening? (or
are you authenticating properly as guest, but still failing to use the
share?) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Justin Shin" <zorkshin () tampabay rr com> To: "Full-Disclosure () Lists Netsys Com" <full-disclosure () lists netsys com> Sent: Thursday, July 31, 2003 9:15 PM Subject: [Full-disclosure] rpc dcom -- net shareHi this probably sounds like a really stuuuuuuupid question but here I go:When I ran DCOM-RPC exploit on my own computer, I tried to create a share and supposedly did so correctly. However, when I try to connect to share,
I
am forced to login as Guest account and I cannot login. Is it just me or is it something else?? -- Justin _______________________________________________ Full-Disclosure - We believe in it. Charter: http://lists.netsys.com/full-disclosure-charter.html
