I do not see how this is different than people opening virus attachments.
"Oh look here is something which looks familiar, lets click it."
And then blaming someone else for the trouble they find themselves in.

Seriously, you've had more than enough time to educate yourself on the 
subject of SP2 for Windows XP. Microsoft released numerous docs on the 
subject. All the industry's websites/magazines are covering it almost every 
day, and still you blame Microsoft for 'breaking' your customers network 
installations ?

Perhaps now would be a good time to educate yourself ?
