I have been asked what the PROs and CONs of setting up a vpn would be. Im trying to find security pros and cons. Basically to find out if it is worth the risk. This individual would be using a desktop at home which we would be setting up for her.
What services do the remote workers need to access? If there's anyway to provide that service with an internet-safe protocal (e.g. HTTPS/IMAPS/SSH/SFTP) it's usually far better to go that route as you save a fortune, avoid multiple classes of security risk and you can train your users in a single way no matter where they're working.
