Please terminate all cabling so that water does not get into the bitstream.  Ensure 
adequate emergency stocks of bits, particularly zero bits, which are more 
susceptible to wind damage.  Ground all email messages and postings.  (Actually, we 
know this last won't get done, since most messages have no grounding in reality 
even when there is no disaster in the offing.)

We could issue an evacuation order for those IP addresses in the affected area ... 
er, no, I guess we can't, since the NSA now holds a patent on that.  (Geez, 
Americans will issue a patent on anything.  I mean, we've been doing the same 
thing for years.  You want prior art?  Hasn't anybody ever heard of traceroute?  
Didn't didtheyreadit.com offer geolocation info a couple of years back?)

(Actually, I've got some family in Houston, and we haven't had any response to 
email since before Katrina, so I'm starting to get worried ...)
