The UK pulled all guns in the 90's. Violent crime quadrupled.

I don't think I can bear to get into this one again. But there is something
I find surprising. I would have thought that this list includes some of the
most hardened sceptics in the IT industry. Yet lobbyist fabrication,
misrepresentation and sheer wishful thinking about UK gun crime, privacy
issues and healthcare are recycled regularly and uncritically here.

Now -that- is frightening.

1. We are not experts in everything, just security, lockpicking, twitter
and beer.

2. We can't be critical about everything in life. We rely on premises
which we sometimes have since childhood. Sometimes we discover we're
wrong, or need to re-examine them, and we either do, or don't, depending
on what our philosophy of life and way of life, are.

3. We are incapable of bringing every daily decision to the surface and
reason though them all logically, we rely on short-cuts. We're human.

4. Besides, it's fun sometimes, isn't it?

        Gadi.
