Hey Wilfredo, what type of environment do you have?  Is it switched?  10 or
100mb?  Is it all IP based...things like this will be helpful in determining
what solution or product would fit your needs.  I would highly encourage you
to take a look at this months Network Computing magazine, they just did a
comparative article on different IDS solutions.

Also one thing to keep in mind is centralized management.  The ability to
update attack signatures to all of your IDS boxes from one location.  If you
have to update several manually you lose time in getting the necessary
signatures put out to your sensors.  In our case this is a big issue for us
since we have a large enterprise.  (just food for thought)

The problem that we're running into is that we are all ready looking into
gigabit Ethernet and we're a heavy switched environment.  Anyways good luck
on selecting a solution.
