Disclaimer: I work at ISS.

At Internet Security Systems, our SecureU education program has built a
2-day class on IDS, mostly focused with RealSecure in mind. The knowledge
could be applied to other IDS systems as well, but if we tried to include
every IDS technology out there, the class might be 2 months. We have
generic non-vendor security classes (ie., locking down Linux & Wndows2K,
understanding hacking, best practices, etc)

We package and license the classes to partners and training companies. If
they are interested, they may want to contact training () iss net for more
information. There's an online application at
http://education.iss.net/resellers/ .

For more class info on IDS, check out:
http://education.iss.net/course_descriptions/iss_courses/real.secure.php

Here's the key instructional focus and objectives for IDS training:
Understanding network-based and host-based intrusion detection.
Positioning RealSecure in relation to other ISS products.
  Developing an incident response policy.
Determining how to deploy RealSecure components on a network.
  Choosing an authentication method.
  Selecting cryptographic providers.
Understanding system architecture, configuration options, and detector
response capabilities.
  Using the management console.
Understanding the use of default policies and custom policies for network
engines and system agents.
  Managing network engines.
  Managing system agents.
  Understanding RealSecure data management tools
  Using reports to monitor security.

Subject: IDS: IDS training

Hi all

A major International IT training company has asked if I could recommend
some IDS people to help them author an IDS course. It will last 4/5 days
and cover various products (authors choice I suspect). Anyway if you have
the capabilities and are interested let me know. The financial package is
usually very generous, and they are headed in the US. My bosses won't let
me do it :o(
