I think it started when there was alot of confusion with customers using the Checkpoint RealSecure package, and Checkpoint jumped versions to 4.2, or something like that but I could be wrong. Basically version numbers are something Marketing care most about, and that's what they decided. I stay far away from those things and focus on product function and code development. It's important for me to keep shipping products that address new security attacks, etc., no matter what they call it. pat - -----Original Message----- From: Mark.Teicher () predictive com [mailto:Mark.Teicher () predictive com] Sent: Thursday, March 30, 2000 10:42 AM To: Becker, Pat (ISSAtlanta) Cc: FMartins () pt imshealth com; ids () uow edu au; sdroski () iss net Subject: Re: IDS: RE: IDS for Win2k -reply Archive: http://msgs.securepoint.com/ids FAQ: http://www.ticm.com/kb/faq/idsfaq.html IDS: http://www-rnks.informatik.tu-cottbus.de/~sobirey/ids.html NOTE: Remove this section from reply msgs otherwise the msg will bounce.
