Yes, Stephen, everyone pursuing Level 1 (Security Essentials) or Level 2 (Firewall, Incident Handling, Intrusion Detection, NT, UNIX) must complete a practical assignment that is subsequently posted at the SANS/GIAC website. The mass of raw manpower is what has given the darkside the advantage; we are trying to tip that balance through education and dissemination. http://www.sans.org/infosecFAQ/index.htm Information Security Reading Room http://www.sans.org/giactc.htm GIAC Skills Certification Program - with links to certified students' practical assignments. First off, I'd like to say that I think that this is pretty cool. Does everyone pursuing GIAC certification have to do such a project, and if so what sort of cajoling would it take to get the others to make their results publically available? Maybe it's just a result of my prior experience working for academic institutions, but you show me a group of individuals seeking education, and I see a mass of raw manpower[0].
