HP says to unveil encryption breakthrough
PALO ALTO, Calif., Nov 15 (Reuter) - Hewlett-Packard Co said Chairman and 
Chief Executive Lewis Platt will on Monday unveil a breakthrough in the 
long-deadlocked encryption debate which will be "a milestone" in enabling 
widespread deployment and use of electronic commerce.
A spokesman for the Palo Alto-based computer giant said Platt will provide 
details of the arrangement, which he said is backed by Washington and other 
governments, at a news briefing at the National Press Club on Monday morning.
Executives from microprocessor giant Intel Corp <INTC.O> and Microsoft Corp 
will also speak at the briefing.
