NSF has issued a solicitation to increase
support for fundamental IT research, consistent
with the recommendations of the President's
Information Technology Advisory Committee,
and with bipartisan legislation introduced by the
House Science Committee.
The solicitation also includes support for
research on the "social and economic implications
of IT."
The level of funding will depend on Congressional
appropriations for NSF in FY2000.
