Nasdaq Reports Intel 25M Share Trade Discrepancy

NEW YORK -- The Nasdaq Stock Market canceled many regular-session trades
of Intel Corp.
(INTC) shares Friday, CNBC reported.
Nasdaq reported a closing volume of 131 million shares at 4 p.m. EDT, but
that number was reduced by at least 25 million during after-hours trading,
CNBC said.

A series of identical 25,000 share trades went through at the closing
bell, CNBC reported.
CNBC Stocks Editor Patrick Bolland hypothesized that a computer malfunction
caused the same order
to be sent multiple times, or that something fell on a keyboard and the
broker responsible didn't notice.
