it's pretty simple
if you want privacy enough to deploy a vpn,
the cost of crypto-tunnels is utterly a non-problem
if you don't care enough to do crypto-tunnels, you
don't care enough to worry about MPLS
Remember -
"MPLS is just Frame Relay with found objects."
people running MPLS-VPNs are simply turning their
IP networks into poor simulations of a Cascade
frame relay network.
this is a very odd thing for an IP network operator
to do, especially since it doesn't scale well at all.
and as for the security problems mentioned by Bellovin
and Bush, "Yeah, what they said."
