Subject: PATH -- no victims

Various reports I have received says that the PATH tunnels have been entered from the Manhattan side, and no victims were found on the cars in the station. Two bodies were found on the concourse. Apparently the station under the WTC managed to get evacuated in time, and the trains in the tunnels reversed and got back to New Jersey in time. The confusion of the attack kept us from getting solid information until now. Looks pretty authoritative.

Concrete "corks" are being poured on the Jersey side of the twin tubes (at Exchange Place Station) to prevent water from rushing into the remaining, operating tunnels from the WTC site or the Hudson River. Exchange Place is about 20 feet lower than the WTC station. They should have build automatic "Seawall" doors like they did for Penn Station during WW II. It would have been easy when they built the new station as part of the WTC, replacing the 1907 station.
