Most of the networks proposed wouldn't be operated by the city, but by
private contractor. And, wait, you're saying that a week without DNS on
Comcast's network with long phone waits and no explanations (except in the
press) is *better* than what you get from your local utility? Move to
Seattle.

I went into the Department of Licensing in my Seattle neighborhood the other
day (the DMV to the rest of the country), and they were singing behind the
counters while being incredibly helpful, efficient, and polite.
