Subject: OECD broadband stats

Hey Dave --

The OECD just released its broadband stats for December.

http://www.oecd.org/document/ 7/0,2340,en_2649_34223_38446855_1_1_1_1,00.html

Couple of points popped out:
- We Canucks lead the G7 when it comes to broadband penetration at 23.8
broadband subscribers per 100 inhabitants. But Canada is number 9 in the
OECD. Denmark is best among the 30 OECD countries with 31.9 subscribers per 100 inhabitants. (U.S. is number 15 in the OECD and 5th in the G7 at 19.6
broadband subscribers per 100 inhabitants.)
- Japan leads the OECD in fibre connections directly to the home with 7.9 million fibre-to-the-home subscribers in December 2006. Fibre subscribers alone in Japan outnumber total broadband subscribers in 23 of the 30 OECD
countries.

Cheers --
