yes, also as an alternative to not-so-uncommon DSL outages. On Friday  
Oct 3, someone at ATT told me that more than 500 customers were part  
of a DSL outage in San Diego. Myself, I was /one week/ without ATT DSL  
service (always being promised "next day" service), was hit by that  
outage and had to rely on the cell phone modem instead. This is also  
why is it so very very important not to accept limitations -- because  
one service can be used as back up to the other, so that the user may  
be able to compensate outages. Otherwise, there is no recourse.
