Dave, for IP if you wish.I believe AT&T's own studies show approximately 40% of usage is "from the home" of the user, and thus, perhaps better handoff to wifi (for smartphones so equipped) and mass deployment of femtocells. On the technical side of things, there's not a lot available to either the app developer (I don't claim to know the internals of the available SDK's either) in application profiling, network performance, or how to optimize applications across a varied network such as any mobile network might be. I do know that adjustments made to any platform (i.e. network stack or application protocol implementation) can have significant impact upon overall efficiencies within the network.I might suggest we're at the early stages of being able to give the general application developer (any) good feedback on how to maximize efficiencies in the network. This might be an area for the carriers (or Apple/Google/Symbian et al) to facilitate with performance profiling capabilities both in the local and macro sense of the information which could be useful for all parties involved.Cheers, Andy Burnette David Farber wrote:Begin forwarded message: *From: *"David P.
