For IP, if you wish:

It's very likely that those ToS are illegal under the incoming General
Data Protection Regulation. The ToS say they will assume you consent if
you continue to use the service after May 25. That's not allowed under
GDPR, which requires *active* consent to terms. In this case, it's
particularly egregious since Yahoo acquired so many companies over the
years that there are plenty of people who had accounts with eg
Geocities, Flickr, Tumblr...who may have long forgotten or never
realized they *have* Yahoo accounts now.

The "Privacy Center", to which the ToS refers people for information
about what Oath does with the data it collects, goes into detail about
the fact that the service will track you across third-party sites and
all your devices whether or not you are signed in. This little habit of
Facebook's has drawn the attention of several European regulators. It's
not likely to pass GDPR either.

Hi Dave,

Your readers might want to know that the Verizon/Oath TOS replace the
Yahoo TOS on 25 May.
https://policies.oath.com/us/en/oath/terms/otos/index.html

People can delete their accounts here:
https://login.yahoo.com/account/delete-user
https://edit.yahoo.com/config/delete_user

Based on Verizon's customer satisfaction rates, I suspect most of us
have a strong opinion on the matter. You can find discussions on the
implications to privacy and customer service anywhere you look online,
including:
