"....think *complicated* security....."

expect to see 'simple' security measures/technologies coming out of
Groupe Bull then. Ie they are saying its too complicated to setup, we
need something that's secure but easy to set/administer.

Anyone who cites security as a detriment to commerce of any kind
only shows their sheer ignorance (and, dare I say, stupidity) regarding
the impact of the *lack* of security on commerce.

The current lack of security on "e-commerce" has already resulted
in an enormous loss of consumer confidence in the medium. Ask any Joe or
Jane on the street about using their credit card on the 'net and you'll
invariably hear of their concern regarding "hackers" [sic] acquiring their
credit card numbers and taking advantage of them online. This concern was
conceived by a number of incidents in which just that sort of thing has
happened.

Worse still, the average consumer has to pay the price for this
very lack of security. The credit card companies don't just absorb the
losses incurred through fraud; they pass it on to all of their customers
(and that includes you and me).

I for one would very much like to see the list of those "top 40
blue chip companies" that have such a low regard for security. I can
guarantee you that I'll never do business with them again. I see no
reason to put my personal credit at risk for their own insipid want of
convenience.
