If it is a Requiem he was never a Hacker ... I say long live the king and
the king is not dead.

I'll coment 3 things, from http://www.wiretrip.net/rfp/txt/evolution.txt,
but first I need to say that I don't know rfp, just his work:

Only if you let it happend. The problem is that the old term also says that
no faces are involved, just a nickname or a clue ... the siners now are
seeing their sins, that's good. The price was giving and sharing, thats even
better.

"I'm going to enjoy being in the crowd for once."
It's nice to be on the crowd.
Sometimes learning with who you don't know, other times seeing your friends
and learning with them ... or just alone, enjoying the crowd, learning with
the crowd, being part of the crowd, or nobody, because a hacker must be
nobody to remain one.

"Security is a state of being, not a state of budget."
So just keep being yourself.... hacking a budget here, a budget there ... I
man have to live.

The old meaning of Internet that I learned was that "The Internet is a
COOPERATIVE network of computers, connected worldwide, by using TCP/IP. Is
COOPERATIVE because everybody is giving information and knowledge to make it
bigger, so YOU MUST COOPERATE once you are in and taking advantege of that."
Knowing TCP/IP was just a detail, in the sense that you could participate
with poems, music, or cooking recipes. COOPERATIVE was The Word. Today the
word is COMMERCIAL.

I learned that with a guy here in Portugal, that once in a while I used to
see in seminars, but even that don't happend for some years now. Mário
Valente, if you are reading this, this is for you.

The rest is history ... the indians did fight the white faces as long as
they can, because they invaded their land ... ones got addict with drugs or
alcohol, the others get educated and working with the goverment ... it's
history.
