installing ruby / gems

Hi guys,

I'm trying to use framework for the first time in linux. I resolved
all the dependency issues getting ruby et all installed (that's the
good news), and finally to the point where I now get errors that have
nothing to do with missing package (that's the bad news)

Here's where I am stuck:

# ./msfweb

[*] Starting msfweb v3.0 on http://127.0.0.1:55555/

./script/../config/boot.rb:29: undefined method `gem' for main:Object (NoMethod
Error)
         from ./script/server:2:in `require'
         from ./script/server:2
         from ./msfweb:82:in `load'
         from ./msfweb:82

I have no clue what any of the above means or how to resolve it.

Here are all the ruby packages I've installed:

ruby-irb-1.8.6-1.el4
ruby-rdoc-1.8.6-1.el4
ruby-gems-actionpack-1.11.2-1
ruby-gems-rake-0.7.0-1
ruby-1.8.6-1.el4
ruby-abi-1.8.6-1.el4
ruby-docs-1.8.6-1.el4
ruby-gems-activesupport-1.2.5-1
ruby-gems-activerecord-1.13.2-1
ruby-gems-actionmailer-1.1.5-1
ruby-gems-rails-1.0.0-1
ruby-libs-1.8.6-1.el4
ruby-devel-1.8.6-1.el4
ruby-gems-0.8.11-2.el4
ruby-gems-actionwebservice-1.0.0-1

any ideas?

Please be gentle, this is the first time I've ever installed ruby.

Thanks
Nat
