NANOG and NAIR Synergy

Is there any synergy that can be gained by
having NANOG members and the proposed NAIR
founders work together to allocate from the following /8 ?

It seems that many of the proposed NAIR founders
are also active in NANOG which is sponsored by Merit
which is partially funded by the NSF.
