Does anyone remember the NSF-sponsored regional networks? Can you fix this table--this is off the top of my head so I am missing a few networks. Can I buy a vowel? Name Region NOC was or is at Now SURAnet Southeast US Univ MD BBN SER
Ok - why not:
SURAnet NOC started in a little tiny room at the Univ of Maryland
then moved off campus to a building in College Park (stones throw
away from campus but not on campus) on Route 1. Technically I believe
something that could be considered a backup NOC for SURAnet was
run at the Georgia Tech Campus.
And now you know the rest of the story.....
