No, but it will ask you if you want to configure automatic updates. That's still not going to do much for the dialup user who has to download SP1. And we're also talking about the majority of customers who don't have WinXP - and won't be getting it.
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp?corporate=trueYou can download anything on Windows Update here. We make many of this update files part of our standard dialup install CD. Especially service packs. They aren't installed by default, but they are on the CD if they need them. No 24 hour downloads needed.
