Simon,
Good on you! I installed Octomon yesterday. Fantastic tool, thanks for
giving back to the community.

Cheers,
Harry

Hi all,

I'm Simon and I work at Cloudflare. I have leaned on the NANOG archives
for years when chasing odd behaviour between a host and the wider internet,
so I wanted to give something back and share a tool I built, in case it is
useful to anyone here or to the people you support.

https://octomon.dev

octomon is an open-source terminal dashboard for the end-host view of a
connection: per-target latency, loss and jitter, per-process and per-remote
bandwidth, Wi-Fi signal, resolver health, path MTU, clock offset, and the
ISP path from traceroute.

I was sick of running a load of separate tools and scripts, piecing
together the information to determine what was going on with my Internet
connectivity. I also wanted to learn Rust, so this was a chance to tidy up
all the scripts I've built over the past 30 years into a single cli tool
for helping me diagnose my device to Internet connectivity.

Quick video of me walking through it here...

Thanks,

Simon
