Feature idea: multiple interface scanning

I had that idea that it would be a good thing if nmap could support using multiple source addresses on a single box as 
a way to help avoid scan detection.  Let me know if this is already supported, impossible, in development, or a 
[good|bad] idea.  If it is possible, non-existant, and a good idea, I can try coding it.
