You know a lot of people have mentioned the apt repositories.  And for
those with other distributions, there are yum repos too.  And that's
great.  I just noticed that nmap is distributed on insecure.org/dist
in tgz gz bz2 and rpm formats.  Would it be that much harder to build
a deb format there as well?  The repos elseware do not have the
updated fingerprints and new scanning engines.

It's not that hard to compile from source.  Thanks to all who responded.
