Hi Jah.  I like it (particularly with your latest improvements)!  But
that is no surprise, since I added the idea to the TODO list recently.
Even though I think version detection is normally much more useful,
I've often had people over the years ask me for a simple banner
grabbing option.  For a long time I said no, since I didn't want to
bloat the core Nmap codebase with the feature.  But NSE really shines
at this sort of thing.  So I'm glad people will soon have this option.
I don't think it should be in the default category (and you seem to
agree, since it isn't).

When you're comfortable with the script, please check it in.
