Hi Tom,
The os installed is "*Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.3*" on a
VMWare virtual machine. As suggested by you, I tried running -sT and -sX as
well but no luck.

Thanks.

Hi All,
I am facing a strange problem while running nmap as root. If I run it as a
normal user, nmap works fine but when I run it as root, its unable to

Can anyone tell me the reason for this?

Hello Priyank,

Two quick questions, can you tell me what OS you are running this
on?
Also, can you try two more scans as root, one with -sT and one with -sX and
tell us if the behavior changes?

Thanks much,

Tom
