NMAP Bug?

From: "Jender, Raymond [USA]" <jender_raymond () bah com>

Configuration: NMAP 5.21 on Windows XP

Target: Remote RHEL 5

The RHEL 5 under test is a VMware VM (ESX) and
I am connected to it via Cisco VPN.
I can ping the remote box.

When I run NMAP, I get:

Starting Nmap 5.21 ( Nmap<http://nmap.org/>- Free Security Scanner For Network Exploration & Security
Audits.<http://nmap.org/> ) at 2010-10-19 14:04 Eastern Daylight Time

NSE: Loaded 36 scripts for scanning.

nexthost: Failed to determine dst MAC address for target xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

QUITTING!

(Obviously I have obscured the IP)

I can perform TCP scans with a program called Advanced Port Scanner

and it detects open ports.

Regards,

Ray
