I looked at this a little bit the other day, but got lost trying to come up with some sort of rpcgen that would output Lua. There are a couple rpcgen.py scripts out there that could be hacked, but it'd take more time than I have available right now. With such a program, it'd be easy to generate stubs for a large number of scripts from the RPC Language files in /usr/include/rpcsvc/*.x (from the libc6-dev package on Ubuntu).
