Re: Masters Program Question / Career Advice

I'm currently in the BSIT+Security program at WGU, but I've been in the
industry for some time now. I've had my CISSP since 2003 and other vendor
security certs since 2000. I like the WGU program because you can work at
your own pace, but for me the only class/credit that transferred in was the
CISSP in place of the CompTIA Security+ cert. I didn't argue this because
any class that I thought would transfer in I could just as easily write a
paper or pass a test.

Several years ago, I tried the Capella University program and was not happy
with it, though they say if you have your CISSP and BS already, you can
petition out of half of the masters program.

From what I've seen, most MIS Master of Information Security programs that
are online are geared towards earning your CISSP and any BS degree is more
focused on general IT/general ed.

Sorry that I don't have any advice for you. I'm looking to get my
Bachelor's in InfoSec, Lewis seems like they have a good program (too bad
for me they don't offer the Bachelor's online). Right now I'm looking at
Drexel University Online. I was considering Western Governors University, I
like that you earn industry certs while working towards your degree, but
they didn't have all the classes I'm looking for.

Good Luck Samuel. Does anyone else have any universities they can
recommend?
