Just as an fyi,
I tried running the traceroute exploit against OpenLinux 2.4 and found that
Open Linux will show a segmentation fault but will not give you root access.
I ran the exploit and the traceroute -g 12 -g 42 command and both gave the
same results.

Hmmmm. If `traceroute -g 12 -g 42' dies with a segmentation violation, you have root access. Check out: ftp://maxx.via.ecp.fr/traceroot/advisory Or check out: http://www.hack.co.za/ -- MaXX
