The system I'm in is behind a firewall with restrictions on outbound FTP, so I've been trying to get the WinNT standard-issue CLI FTP client to grok passive mode. No joy. I've done the perfunctory GoogleSearch(tm) and it seems there's a lot of folks who have run up against this, but no-one with any solutions. I'm hoping someone here has overcome this stumbling block and can provide some insights.
I ran up against this issue a little over a year ago. Nope, the NT CLI FTP client doesn't do passive mode transfers -- even thought it says it does. The solution is to use wget. At least that's what I used to solve my problems. --Rebecca Kastl
