Common XML schema

Does anyone know if there is any working being done (e.g by IETF or other 
standards body) to define a common XML schema for network security 
assesment information.

Basically, I know some tools will provide XML output (e.g. nnamp), but as 
far as I know the schema used is not based on a standard. I just wanted to 
know if there was any work being done to address this issue.
