Hoi Petr,
The company i work for makes what you are looking for.
The last custom order i tested has been a ~ 14cm x 14cm x 3cm matt black tough metal box, with one magnetic side for easy placing.
Main features:
- takes 5..20V {can run from a battery}
- 3x 100Mbit UTP port.
- it can be remotely accessed when its in bridging mode.
to collect logs and tweak filter rules, so one doesn't need to visit it
until removal.
- it can log completely silent when recording to Compact Flash {8G at that
time} , or optionally to a build in 2.5" HD {120G at that time}.
- it can do selective logging.
- it survives power outages
so, no recorded data gets lost,
and boots much faster then a PC/Server, so its back in logging mode before
the monitored machine(s).
If you are looking for such a device, then it can be made for you. If you are looking for something smaller or different then i'm sure it can be developed for you.
Cheers *Anna.
