expansion of the UK government CHECK scheme for certifying penetration
testing companies/individuals, but more applicable to private

I've spoken to several Penetration testing companies and most of them
are involved in CREST in some way or another, as such it's got a fair
bit of momentum going, although it's taken quite a bit longer than
expected to get everything set up.  I'll wait to see what the quality
of the exams are when they come out.

Tiger on the other hand, I've not heard anything about from Pen
testing companies at all, and there doesn't seem to be any information
about specific industry backers on the site...

As to grandfathering, I know it's an inevitable part of setting up a
certification but t.b.h I'm not that impressed by requiring either CEH
or an MSc.  CEH as it doesn't seem to be hugely well regarded, and MSc
because it's not exactly directly relevant to Penetration testing!
